The magazine publishes original and review scientific articles in the field of "History and Archaeology", focusing, in particular, on issues of the history of science, technology, education and culture of Ukraine and the world, and original and review scientific articles in the field of "Philosophy". These areas correspond to ISCED-F 2013 (02 Arts and humanities: subdivisions 0222 History and archeology and 0223 Philosophy and ethics).

The main scope of the journal are to create an open information space, support research in historical and philosophical sciences, disseminate the results of these studies in the scientific community of Ukraine and the world, stimulation public discussion of controversial issues in the indicated scientific areas, and support the development of interdisciplinary research in the humanitarian sphere.

The editorial policy of the magazine is aimed at increasing its scientific and international recognition, increasing the citation index, getting into the main international scientometric bases, which will contribute to the integration of the magazine into the world scientific and informational space.

The magazine was published until 2018 under the name "Bulletin of the Dnipropetrovsk University. series History and philosophy of science and technology". Under this name, 25 issues of the magazine were published up to and including 2017. In connection with the change of the name of the Dnipropetrovsk University, there was a need to change the name of the journal as well. From No. 26, the magazine begins to be published under a name "Studies in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology". The journal STUDIES IN THE HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY is the legal successor of the journal "Bulletin of the Dnipropetrovsk University. series History and philosophy of science and technology", so the numbering of journal with the changed name continues.

The editorial board of the journal, which consists of well-known specialists in the field of historical and philosophical sciences (both domestic and foreign), invites scientists in the specified areas of scientific research to send their research materials for publication in the specialized scientific journal STUDIES IN HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.
