Abstract

The views of famous scientists in the field of palaeontology and their comparison with the concept of this field of science of O. O. Borysiak and his ascetic activity are considered. Key dates of his life and activity are emphasized. New arguments regarding the concept of paleozoology developed by O. O. Borysiak are discussed. Chief editor of the journals “Nature” (1931–1935) and “Reports of the Academy of Sciences” (1933–1936). The head of the national school of vertebrate palaeontology, developed it in the spirit of V.
