Abstract

The following analysis assesses the current state of scientific development within Ukraine, its people's potential, its financial support needs, and its prospect of joining other academic efforts within the European scientific and technology space. Researchers from Ukraine and beyond analyzed the country's scientific and technological potential and came to the conclusion that the level of development of science largely determines the state of society. This thesis addresses the state of scientific research within Ukraine since the nation's independence and posits that Ukraine hast not sustained sufficient financial and human resources to maintain equivalent scientific advancement levels previously obtained within the nation. Ukraine's advancement opportunities, contingent upon natural resources, industrial growth, scientific prowess, academic accomplishments, and human potential, have begun to place the nation in a prominent role for scientific and technological advancement within Europe. As part of the European integration, the role of science within Ukraine should be prioritized by the state. Ukraine should revive the traditions and capability of the nation's proven academic leadership to establish itself as a preeminent leader of scientific discovery within the modern world. The scientific method provides Ukraine and its citizens the means to achieve the optimal quality of life, personal safety, societal health, and environmental wellbeing the nations is meant to have.
